When Grimaldi took his 30-day test in Munich-Riem, he received 9.0 for rideability, 8.75 for his walk, 8.63 for character and 8.25 for his trot. That added up to a dressage index of 8.50 which made him the Reserve Champion in the dressage index, confirming the high esteem awarded to him when he was licensed in 2011 in Münster Handorf.

The sire Gribaldi, Trakehner Champion Stallion and ribbon collector in international Grand Prix classes, sired an entire armada of top quality offspring for the dressage ring, foremost the three-time World Champion Totilas/Edward Gal/NED and Matthias Alexander Rath. Also worth mentioning are the World Cup winner IPS Painted Black/Anky van Grunsven/NED, the EC team third Sisther de Jeu/Edward Gal/NED  and Nadine Capellmann’s promising young horse Girasol. Gribaldi was awarded the titel Keur and Preferent in the Netherlands and in 2008 he received the Trakehner Stallion of the Year title in Germany.  In 2010 this black stallion died suddenly.

Grimaldi‘s grandsire Weltrubin, stationed at the NRW State Stud in Warendorf, is a son of the line founding stallion Weltmeyer. He was a final ring stallion at the 12th NRW licensing in 2002 and then placed in tests for young dressage horses. Weltrubin sired the Reserve Champion Stallion of the Zweibrücker licensing and a final ring mare at the Rhineland Elite Broodmare Show.

The granddam El.St. Utopie won elementary (L) level tests for young dressage horses and several of her foals were sold at auctions.

This Oldenburg performance line is also the origin of the licensed stallions Lancier, Disco-Star, Fling I, II and III, Freischütz, Lucardo and Pakkato as well as an advanced (S) level dressage horse named Hardenburg Gigolo.
