
Terms & Conditions
Gestüt Vorwerk is an approved insemination station in compliance with EC Guidelines.
All mare owners that utilize our stallions acknowledge the following Terms & Conditions for all present and future business relations. Otherwise, the Breeding/Insemination Terms & Conditions of the Oldenburg Verband apply.
The breeding season begins on January 1st and ends on July 31st.
Order of Semen
Semen can be ordered by phone or fax and must be ordered by 10:00 a.m.
When ordering semen, the following information must be
- Stallion desired
- Name and complete address of the mare owner
- Breeding Verband which is to be notified of the insemination
- Exact shipping address
- Information on the mare (name, life number, copy of pedigree, age)
Breeding certificates (Deckschein) are to be presented to the stallion keeper (not the veterinarian) at the beginning of the breeding season!Stud fees are to be paid at the first insemination.
The cost of shipping semen is to be paid by the breed.
Precence at shows, Illness
If a stallion is not available on short term notice during the breeding season because of special reasons (presence at shows, illness, etc.), frozen semen will be used if possible or, if desired, another stallion at the station can be used. The stud fee will not be refunded.
When stallions have a heavy breeding schedule, mares will be predominately inseminated at the Equestrian Veterinary Clinic [Tierärztliche Klinik für Pferde], Dr. Genn and Partner in Mühlen.
Boarding Mares
Mares can be boarded at the Equestrian Veterinary Clinic [Tierärztliche Klinik für Pferde], Dr. Genn and Partner in Mühlen. Dr. Alexandra Görgens from the Equestrian Veterinary Clinic in Mühlen will be available for veterinary services. Telephone +49 (0) 170-2459027 or +49 (0) 5492-1394.
Special Costs
The owner of the mare gives his consent to have our station veterinarian called in at his cost if the stallion keeper deems this necessary. Costs will be billed separately by the station veterinarian.
Insemination
Insemination will only be carried out after a follicle exam has been made by the station veterinarian. With the exception of 3-year old mares and mares with foal, a cervical culture is required.
Half of the paid stud fee will be credited to the following breeding season for mares that do not come in foal or have reabsorbed if a veterinary certificate confirming that the mare is not in foal is presented by December 1st. If confirmation is not presented by this date, we will not be able to credit half the stud fee to the following year. For mares that are inseminated for the first time after July 1st of the respective year and did not come in foal, the entire stud fee will be credited to the following year (in the respective price class). In this case as well, a veterinary certificate confirming that the mare is not in foal must be presented by December 1st.
