Only a stem cell donation can save the two-year old Rosa, whose parents are also enthusiastic riders. Her "genetic twin" just needs to be found - which is like looking for a needle in a pile of hay. The more people that participate in the drive, i.e. register in the German Bone Marrow Donator Data Base (DKMS), the greater the chances for Rosa and other leukemia patients. 
At the 62nd Oldenburg State Championships in Rastede and at the Duhn Mud Flat Race in Cuxhaven, more than 1,300 people had their blood type determined as possible bone marrow donators. The drive will be continued on Saturday afternoon on August 21st and Sunday morning on August 22nd at the Systaic Event, Fest der Dressur, at Gestüt Vorwerk in Cappeln. The patroness, Victoria Max-Theurer, daughter of the Gestüt Vorwerk host, Sissy Max-Theurer, one of the world's best dressage riders, ask you to be type tested. This is very easy. A simple blood test in which just 5 ml of blood are taken is all that is needed to determine initial tissue characteristics. Cash donations are also most welcome – registration of a person willing to save a life costs the DKMS 50 Euros per person – since they also help. 

Victoria Max-Theurer's request: "Give Rosa and other people with leukemia a reason to hope and take the opportunity to register in the DKMS data base at Gestüt Vorwerk." She hopes that just as many people will participate in the type testing drive as in Rastede und Cuxhaven.

To support the drive financially, well-known stallion owners from the region have donated breedings to their stallions that will be auctioned off by the star auctioneer, Uwe Heckmann. Breedings from stallions at Zuchthof Klatte in Klein Roscharden, the stallion stations of Heinz Ahlers in Hatten, Paul Schockemöhle in Mühlen and Böckmann in Lastrup, as well as Gestüt Sprehe, Löningen-Benstrup, and the Ludwig Kathmann stallion station, Holtrup, will be auctioned on Friday, August 19th.
